I was in Cambodia outside of Phnom Penh, at the site of an orchard turned into a mass grave from the war. It struck me so deeply. Later in my studio I made this painting. I wasn't sure what it was at first. The colors I knew were from Southwest Asia. And then I knew, it was a tribute to Choeung Ek, so peaceful now, so vibrant.
